Arlee 4th of July Celebration


The event dates change each year, but the certain date is that July 4th is at the center of the event. Please check before making plans.

Beginning its second century the Arlee 4th of July Celebration will begin on Thursday which is designated 'Camp Day'. Many participants will begin erecting encampments for the coming weekend. The evening is set aside for Memorial Ceremonies which acknowledge the tribal members who passed away during the last year.

On Friday at 7:00am - 11:00am the Arlee Fire Department located on Highway 93 in Arlee will be hosting its annual pancake breakfast. The cost is $4 for adults and $3 for children.

On Friday, in Arlee at 1:00pm the first grand entry of dancers will begin at the Celebration Grounds. On Saturday, competition will begin for the singing and dancing contests. Grand entries will be held at 1:00pm and 7:00pm throughout the weekend.

The Annual 4th of July parade will begin at noon. The Grand Entry will be the Snake Dance at 1:00pm. Dedication ceremonies and honoring of all veterans will follow. Native American singing and dancing will continue until Midnight.

Open gambling includes traditional stick games, live card games and video games which will continue throughout the weekend. Food concessions and arts and crafts vendors are open daily.

All are welcome to attend this cultural celebration, hosted by the Flathead Nation and attended by Native Americans from throughout the US and Canada. Events include traditional drumming and singing, competition dancing, parade, arts and crafts, and food vendors. Participants may camp on-site in teepees, tents, campers and RV's. Most facilities are handicapped accessible. Free admission. Drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited (vehicles and persons subject to search).

Arlee 4th of July Celebration grounds are east of Highway 93 at the south end of Arlee. Turn east off Highway 93 on to Pow-Wow Road and go east 0.5 mile.
