The Lodge Pole Gallery & Tipi Village cultivates Blackfoot culture and shows its beauty to the world by providing overnight stays in tipis (traditional dwelling), serving traditional food, exhibiting Northern Plains Indian contemporary and traditional fine art and raising Spanish Mustangs (original Indian horse). Overnight and extended stays in traditional Blackfeet tipi camp in a pristine prairie setting are offered for individuals, families and groups. The canvas tipis have a fireplace in the center and liners (inner walls for better insulation and ventilation). A shower house and lounge-dining room for tipi-camp guests is also part of of the services provided. In its eleventh year of operation, the Lodge Pole Gallery & Tipi Village has hosted many guests from throughout the world in its permanent tipi-camp during summers from May until September, which makes it unique in the state of Montana. Traditional specialty and gourmet meals (buffalo, antelope, deer, elk or seafood) can be arranged for guests or groups. Amskapi Pikuni (Southern Blackfeet) cuisine is offered at the evening meal. The gallery displays contemporary and traditional Native American fine Art by Northern Plains Indian artists, but mainly by local Blackfeet artists. Local artists are also available to commission for custom moccasins, beadwork, drums, shields, rattles, etc. Cultural mini-seminars and craft sessions are offered by Blackfeet artist Darrell Norman. In 2002, Darrell received the Community Spirit Award from the First Peoples Fund for his efforts to ensure the continuation of traditional Blackfeet art forms. Cultural history tours to buffalo jumps, tipi rings, etc. including the Museum of the Plains Indian and activities such as horseback riding and hikes with a Blackfeet guide can be arranged.
